Review: Lara Beauty Anti-Aging Skin Care for Sensitive Skin

One of the great things about blogging and review blogging in particular is the great new-to-me products I get to get out. Case in point: Lara Beauty.

Now, they market the Lara Beauty product line more as anti-aging skincare, but because of the ingredients they are also great for people with extremely sensitive skin…such as myself. I have reviewed another skin care line for sensitive skin; Burt’s Bees, and was impressed overall.

When the email invitation to try out Lara Beauty came in, I was intrigued. I had never heard of them either (I must lead a very sheltered life), and I was asked to give an honest review.

Well heck, thats my thing anyways.

So they arrived, and I have given them a full THIRTY day test drive. What was I sent? Well I was sent the complete skin care system (score!):

Lara Beauty Conditioning Cleanser for Sensitive Skin

Gentle and botanical-rich, this oil-free, fragrance-free cleanser for sensitive skin dissolves dirt and make-up while deep cleaning pores without stripping or drying skin.

Lara Beauty Polishing Microderm Abrasion for Sensitive Skin

A fragrance-free age-defying scrub and polishing treatment that is rich in vitamins A, E and F. Exfoliates worn and damaged skin, smoothing fine lines and wrinkles, evening out skin tone and removing imperfections.

Lara Beauty Revitalizing Daily Toner for Sensitive Skin

Rehydrate and stimulate repair with this alcohol-free, fragrance-free toner for sensitive skin that restores the natural pH balance to promote a glowing complexion.

Lara Beauty Anti-Aging Daily Therapy for Sensitive Skin

Rejuvenate, smooth and moisturize your skin, with this fragrance-free moisturizer for sensitive skin, stimulating repair, smoothing out fine lines, reducing wrinkles and minimizing age spots.

First things first. They are packaged beautifully. Really high end looking. (Made me feel like one of those “Rich Housewives of X City”) and the scent of each of the products was nothing to have my stomach turned over. Not really all that fantastic, but not negative. Most sensitive skin products are kinda plain smelling anyways (must be something to do with being “fragrance free” hahaha, duh).

Directions for use

Wet face and neck. Pour a small amount of Lara Beauty Conditioning Cleanser into palm, adding a little water to create a gentle foaming action. Gently massage onto face and neck in a circular motion. Rinse well.

Two to three times a week after cleansing, apply a small amount of Lara Beauty Polishing Microderm Abrasion directly to face. Using fingertips, or a damp washcloth to enhance exfoliating action, gently scrub in a circular motion. Do not over-scrub. Rinse well with warm water.

Next, apply Lara Beauty Revitalizing Daily Toner to face and neck in a gentle sweeping motion using a cotton ball or pad. Allow face to air-dry. Do not rinse toned skin.

Using your fingertips, gently massage Lara Beauty Anti-Aging Daily Therapy onto face and neck in small, circular motions until absorbed.

Use morning and night to maintain a soft, moisturized complexion.

CAUTION: Avoid eyes. In case of contact with eyes, rinse well with water.

I love the fact that you can go to the website and see each and every one of the ingredients. Also, NO ANIMAL TESTING! Yay!

I followed the directions and here are my thoughts…

  • My skin had no negative reaction to any of the products, not even the toner. (In fact, that is my favorite product!) No redness, itching, or peeling.
  • The moisturizer (Anti-Aging Daily Therapy) was a little heavy in my opinion, left my skin a bit greasy, but I am not really that big of a fan of moisturizing.
  • The Polishing Microderm Abrasion was nice, really really nice. Like, I felt like I had gone to a spa nice.

Now, do I look younger? No idea. My skin does feel great, and my makeup is sitting a bit nicer than usual since my skin is in better condition. But I am not even thirty yet so anti-aging is not really at the top of my list..not that it is not on the list (’cause it is), just not the top.

Okay maybe top 5.

Not to sound like a phony used car salesman, but I am sold. I have to admit I really do love this product line (okay, maybe I will go without the moisturizer) and I think you should head on over to the website and take a peak for yourself. If anything, get the toner. It’s A-MA-ZING. I love the fact it is in a nifty spray bottle.

  1. Great review! It sounds like the product for me (I have never heard of it either, if THAT makes you feel better :)). To be honest, I depend on moisturaztion! :) If I forget to put some cream on my face (and body), I go crazy about the dryness all day long, but I am a bit sensitive to changing products too, I can get nasty pimples if I am not lucky with a new cream, and then we are not just talking one or two pimples, but tens of them all over my face.

It could be very tormenting if you have sensitive skin yet you have some problems with it like acne or pimples that you really need to treat before it depreciate your self esteem. You really have to be careful since they can increase the risk of worsening your skin irregularities.
